Kim Boersen-Gladman is a Registered Massage Therapist who has been practicing since 1999. That year, she graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Toronto, and in 1997, Kim also graduated from Brock University as a Recreation Therapist. Kim is also one of a select group of therapists trained and certified by the acclaimed Dr. Vodder School International to administer Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD). MLD is a method that targets swelling due to injuries, surgery or a form of lymphedema.
Kim began her career at St. John’s Rehab Hospital in Toronto. With a strong belief that massage has clinical as well as restorative value for patients, Kim developed an essential massage therapy program at St. John’s Rehab, which was the first of its kind for the hospital. Through her leadership, she has helped hundreds of patients recovering from burns, amputations, strokes, hip and knee replacements and a variety of orthopedic injuries.
As a life-long learner and educator in her field, Kim contributes her expertise to regional Cancer Centres across Ontario. She provides MLD and compression therapy to all types of edema.
By founding Head To Foot Oasis in 2007 with business partner Natasha Glodon, Kim and her family became active members of the communities that make up Halton Region. Kim is asked to attend forums to share information with students and professionals working within the field of Cancer and Lymphedema. Noticing a gap in Lymphedema care, Kim has continued her education in garment fitting and is a compression garment fitter for both vascular and Lymphedema as well as a Assistive Device Program certified fitter.
